James Franco, Brit Marling & More Find 'Grace That Keeps This World'

Take two of the best young talents in Hollywood and throw them in a film together with a veteran actress in a family drama, and you've got our attention. Deadline reports that Glenn Close will star alongside James Franco and Brit Marling in The Grace That Keeps This World, a film adaptation of author Tom Bailey's novel with Terri director Azazel Jacobs sitting in the director's chair. The story follows a father and his sons as they get ready for an upcoming hunting season, but when a rookie environmental cop investigates some hunting violations, the family experiences conflicts that threaten to tear it apart. We're not sure yet which role these actors will play, though it's likely Close will be the matriarch of the family. Amazon calls it "a tale of profound loss, human fallibility, and the love—romantic, neighborly, or familial—that can sometimes blur our line of vision," which makes it seem a bit heavier than the comedic fare Franco has been involved with lately. He could play one of the sons, but I could also see him as the cop, so we'll wait for confirmation before the speculation really begins.

Matthew Aldrich wrote this script and will produce, and he's made a name for himself selling a few scripts which haven't seen the inside of theaters yet, including Matt Damon's Father Daughter Time and Brad Furman's The Ballad of Pablo Escobar. The Grace That Keeps This World is on the right track so far, and I'm interested to see how the up-and-coming Marling and indie stalwart Franco share the screen together.
