Renaissance Hotels, Marriott International’s signature lifestyle brand,
has opened its second hotel in Barcelona this year, the 357-room
Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel, under a franchise agreement with
Hoteles Catalonia.

Located in Plaza Europa and designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel and Ribas
& Ribas, the hotel is destined to become a city landmark, remarkable
for its stunning and unique design and architecture.
Located in one of Catalonia’s busiest trade fair areas, the Renaissance
Barcelona Fira Hotel is an urban retreat in the midst of a district of
momentous growth and activity.  The hotel is designed by world-renowned
award winning architect Jean Nouvel, notable for celebrated works such
as the Arab World Institute in Paris and Torre Agbar in Barcelona.  The
hotel’s bold and original design comprises two 110 metre towers joined
at the top by a spectacular panoramic restaurant and terrace vantage
point.  Around the sleek, monochrome façade climbs a vertical garden of
300 palm trees and natural vegetation originating from five continents,
providing a natural oasis in the urban landscape.
“We are delighted to add this unique property to our rapidly growing
European portfolio of Renaissance Hotels”, said Amy McPherson, president
and managing director for Marriott International in Europe.  “The
opening of our second Renaissance Hotel in Barcelona this year
reinforces the popularity of the Renaissance brand, and we are excited
to welcome guests to our new hotel here, a destination world renowned
for its warm hospitality and cutting-edge design.”
The Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel is a natural haven with vegetation
lining the corridors and filling the atrium, creating a sense of
tranquility.  The 357 chic guestrooms are light and airy with charming
leaf-shaped lighting and modern amenities.  One of the hotel’s
twenty-seven floors is dedicated to meeting and event space, offering
1200 square feet across 11 flexible rooms packed full of
state-of-the-art technology.
The hotel’s three restaurants and bars include the panoramic Palmer
restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine amidst the vertical garden; El
Cel, a rooftop bar with incredible city vistas; and the Oasis lobby bar,
a casual option for drinks and snacks throughout the day.  For leisure
and relaxation, the hotel features a rooftop pool, indoor pool, fitness
area and solarium.
Renaissance Hotels help cultivate authentic travel experiences through
innovative guest programmes such as R Navigator, the brand’s signature
concierge service, and RLife LIVE, an industry-leading entertainment
platform showcasing emerging musical talent at Renaissance Hotels around
the world.  Earlier this year Renaissance Hotels launched its first
global advertising campaign, Live Life To Discover, provoking guests to
discover something distinctly new wherever they are.
